Nancy Mawuli is an independent German-Ghanaian composer and pianist based in Los Angeles. Her creative impulses come from nature, the ocean and from her life experiences growing up between two cultures in Germany. The piano has always been her sanctuary and inspiration in creating music that brings a sense of calm, hope and joy to listeners. Nancy has been trained in western classical music and jazz (piano and flute). Her compositions mostly fall into the neo-classical genre seasoned by native and African sounds. She also writes R&B and neo-soul songs. When she isn’t composing, Nancy Mawuli teaches at a university in Los Angeles and explores the Californian coast for sounds of nature.
